Kunsthistorisches Museum Tickets — Habsburg Treasures
Museum + Imperial Treasury combined
Reserve the Treasures ticketThe Kunsthistorisches Museum is the house the Habsburgs built for the most beautiful things they owned. Opened in 1891 by Emperor Franz Joseph I, it holds the world's largest collection of Pieter Bruegel the Elder, Vermeer's The Art of Painting, and masterpieces by Raphael, Caravaggio and Velázquez, alongside the imperial treasures of the Kunstkammer.
About this ticket
The Habsburg Treasures ticket combines full skip-the-line entry to the Kunsthistorisches Museum — the Picture Gallery, the Kunstkammer and all permanent collections — with entry to the Imperial Treasury. Together they tell the fullest possible story of Habsburg splendour, from the world's largest Bruegel collection to the dynasty's most precious regalia.
Visiting the museum
At the main building, begin at the grand staircase beneath the great dome, decorated by Hans Makart and the young Gustav Klimt, then climb to the Picture Gallery for the Bruegels and Old Masters before exploring the Kunstkammer and the antiquities wings on the ground floor.
Allow two to four hours for the main museum, plus extra time for the Imperial Treasury. The museum is open 10:00 to 18:00, with late opening on Thursdays until 21:00. From September to May it is closed on Mondays; in June, July and August it opens every day.
